About My Therapy Practice

***IMPORTANT PRACTICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

My private practice is currently full, and I am unable to take new clients right now. It’s hard to predict when that might change, but it will likely be several weeks or longer. I do not keep a formal waitlist, but you are welcome to check back here to see if that has changed. You can also reach out to me via email for a list of therapists in the Denver area.

I am a clinical psychologist and therapist in private practice, licensed in the state of Colorado (Psychology License #3458). I provide individual therapy for adults, using effective, research-based approaches to help my clients reduce suffering and make changes that last.

Treatment Modalities: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and CBT

I have training and experience in a number of therapeutic approaches. While my therapeutic approach depends on each individual client’s specific goals and concerns, I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Free Consultation Calls

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so you can get a sense of my work and I can answer your questions. Finding a therapist is not always easy, and it’s important to have a good fit. If, after talking, it seems that another therapist would be a better fit for you, I will do my best to help you find other resources.

If you’re interested in potentially working with me, please contact me to make an appointment for your consultation call!

What Comes Next

After the consultation call, if we decide it’s a good fit, we will schedule our first session. I’ll give you access to my online portal, where you will fill out some consent forms and questionnaires before our first meeting. In our first session or two, I will learn more about your history and concerns and we will work together to create an individually-tailored plan for our work.

Most of my clients start out with more frequent sessions, usually weekly or every-other-week, when they begin therapy. We can decide together on the frequency that works best for you. Over time, we will decide together when you are ready to meet less frequently or end therapy with me. You have the right to end therapy at any time you wish.

Online Sessions Available

I currently offer both in person and virtual sessions.

Virtual Sessions: I offer online video sessions to clients located anywhere in the state of Colorado, via a secure telehealth platorm. Good news: Video therapy sessions are convenient, and as effective as in-person sessions! Read more about online therapy sessions in this blog post.

In-Person Sessions: I am also available for in-person sessions during my in-office hours (typically four days per week between 8:30 am - 3 pm). During periods of COVID exposures or outbreaks, illness, snowstorms, etc., in-person sessions can easily be switched to online sessions instead, to protect everyone’s health and safety.

In our consultation call, we can discuss whether in-person or remote sessions are right for you!

Rates and Insurance

  • My current rate is $250 for a 50-minute psychotherapy session. Longer or shorter sessions can be arranged in some cases, and will prorated in 15-minute increments.

    • If you are looking for less expensive options, you can email me for a list of recommended therapists in the Denver area.

  • I am an out of network provider for insurance companies, which means I do not bill health insurance companies directly, but can provide invoices for therapy sessions. Often, clients can then be reimbursed by their insurance or Flexible Spending or Health Savings Accounts. Please contact your insurance company to determine your eligibility.

  • I accept credit cards, cash, and checks. Payment is due at the time of the session, and I can bill credit cards automatically.
